Discourse Log

According to a report released by a grand jury today, LA County’s current plans to accommodate the homeless throughout the El Niño season are “unconscionable and grossly inadequate.” Big surprise.

The grand jury urged agencies and city leaders to identify public and private buildings that could become temporary shelters and to relax any health, fire, and safety code ordinances that might prevent those spaces from serving as refuges. It also recommended that supplies and equipment be stockpiled in case of emergency, and that tents, tarps, and ponchos be provided to those who cannot find room at shelters.

Diapers and baby food are pretty useful. I know some other Occupiers that could use that too.

Jon Roberts As a discourse analysis your social engineering attempt by peppering your statement with lies, discredits your “regular folks” argument. Let’s hope you did or will do better on your theses.

Ryan Kargel Exactly! The Corporate coup d’etat of the US government must be addressed!

Lori Kay I realize it maybe more complex than a network reality sitcom, however “doing something about our crooked judicial system” is what is occurring.

A lot of people have been asking “what would happen if armed BLACK people tried to do what the militia in Oregon is doing?”
We can’t answer that question, but we can tell you what happened to the ‪#‎MOVE‬ organization. Whether you agree with the ‪#‎OregonMilitia‬ or think they are terrorists, this is a story of POLICE TERRORISM that MUST BE TOLD! Help SPREAD THE WORD!

Marilyn Warder If your doctors are not able to do research, you do not have doctors. Being a doctor actually requires being able to put together a research paper, which is your medical file. Your lack of ability to qualify your doctors speaks nothing on doctors over all and is little more than profiling. It is not impressive that you skew your research team by excluding doctors, it just shows to the extent that the American people have unfortunately adapted to generations of poor quality and unattainable healthcare.

Lori Kay Again, you are exampling jTRIG conditioning via watching too much television. This is not a realty sitcom. It is a complex geopolitical case and plight of significance, locally and globally. https://search.wikileaks.org/?q=+Bureau+of+Land+Management+

Doug Scott The Corporate State using the Federal Government as its shield has usurpt 1/3 of the USA physical land. That is a lot of land. This has created an unnatural market. This map is stunningly effective at bringing home its message. And that message is: Federal land ownership out west is huge. This map, depicting the distribution and share of federal land per state, was first published way back in 2008. Look at Alaska. If I wanted to go fend for myself after losing my retirement when American Airlines stole it in a merger or after never fully recovering from when Enron’s retirement funds were STOLEN. There is no place to go. This land holding has created unnatural pricing. http://assets3.bigthink.com/system/tinymce_assets/944/original/federal_lands.jpg?1422311293

Unlike Cliven Bundy, the Klamath Basin farmers owned the water. Their water was “deeded”, just like a piece of land that you buy, so it’s actually private property, not a “right” to use the water. All other water holders in the nation only have a “right” to use it. Klamath “owned” their water through a government “deed”.
The farmers and ranchers remaining in the Klamath Basin (southern OR & northern CA) are making their last stand as they seek to work within or around a resolution that will give them very little water of the deeded water they own. The water has been stolen.

Your discourse peppered with lies discredits you. Besides the fact that this is a peaceful protest. The Bundy’s are actually they are Mormon.

Much of their research, which involves interviews, surveys, and field experiments with politicians, is made possible by a special exemption in federal law that allows academics to study public figures without burdensome ethics restraints that govern all other research conducted on humans.

But the federal government is looking to quietly remove that exemption.

Right now the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which writes the rules on what can and can’t be permitted in human subjects research, is in the process of rewriting its whole ethics code. It issued a set of proposed regulations in September, and January 6 marked the deadline to submit comments on those proposed changes.

Overall, social scientists are pleased with the direction these new rules are pushing: If finalized, surveys and low-risk experiments would no longer be held to the same standard as medical trials, which researchers find unduly burdensome.

But snuck into the 300-plus pages of proposed rules is one line suggesting the government intends to close the major loophole that makes studying public officials practically possible.

A draft letter presented by safety committee leaders at a public meeting asked Ammon Bundy to get out of town – though it thanked him for drawing national attention to the fight for local control of federal lands in the county.
